Description of position – The Shain and Bastian laboratories are seeking a postdoctoral scholar who will be responsible for scientific projects related to skin cancer genomics. Commonly used techniques include single-cell RNA-sequencing, single-cell DNA-sequencing, and bulk-cell DNA-sequencing. The candidate must have an interest in analyzing multi-omic datasets and ideally would have previous experience in the area. The position is fully supported with long-term grant support from a team science award managed by the Shain and Bastian laboratories. The overarching goal of the project is to identify mutational biomarkers in normal skin that can predict the risk of eventually developing skin cancer.
Desirable experience (but not required)
- Somatic mutation calling workflows
- Single-cell amplification technologies (e.g. multiple displacement amplification and/or Smart-Seq)
- Programming skills (R, python, shell scripting, et cetera)
