The ultimate goal of the Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) is to connect the global skin research community. To that end, we maintain formal partnerships with sister societies, the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR), and Japanese Society for Investigative Dermatology (JSID).
Our first joint meeting with the ESDR took place in 1972, and the first International Investigative Dermatology (IID) meeting of all three societies was held in 1989. The SID will host the 2018 IID meeting in Orlando, Florida.
A recent and exciting partnership was the creation of International Societies for Investigative Dermatology (ISID), officially incorporated in May of 2016. The ISID membership represents global regions-The Americas; Europe/Africa; and Asia. The SID, ESDR, and JSID are all Charter Members, and the Korean Society for Investigative Dermatology (KSID) was accepted as the newest ISID Member society earlier this year. The first ISID meeting will take place in 2023.
