Academic-Industry Partnership Project (AIPP)

The Translational Symposium: Bridging the Valley of Death: Moving Technologies from the Lab to the Clinic is a special educational feature of the AIPP this year.  As a compliment to Speed Dating at SID, leading Industry partners will participate in a special Shark Tank- themed session. (Don't know what Shark Tank is? See Wikipedia overview) We are looking for three Individuals/Teams willing to pitch their concept. Teams whose technologies are on the path to commercialization - either via a start up or licensing agreement. Teams must have inventions that have already had patents filed, and are comfortable presenting them publicly. Teams who are already in the process of seeking partnership opportunities are encouraged to present. A $1000 prize will be awarded to the winner.

Speed Dating at SID: Save the Date! Friday April 28, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm

This signature event (free to meeting attendees) features a novel interface between academic investigators and industry representatives. Our program was officially launched in 2014 and has already produced multiple ongoing partnerships. This year, a record 470 abstracts are included as available in this novel SID program. Here is what they look like:

For Academics

Those who submitted abstracts and indicated their willingness to meet with our Industry partners will be shared with Industry representatives based on Abstract Category or Keyword matches. We are currently conducting queries submitted by our Industry attendees and will confirm meetings in the coming weeks. Note: All those selected will be contacted and a meeting time confirmed.

For Industry

You can select the abstracts for which you would like the SID office to arrange a 15-minute meeting with the Author. You will be assigned a table in the Speed dating session meeting room and will receive a list of all confirmed appointments.
