About Your Contribution

Thank you for your interest in making a gift to the SID. The SID is a non-profit organization that merits generous charitable support from its philanthropically-minded members.

Charitable gifts are often made at the end of the year or in response to financial planning decisions.  While cash donations are always appropriate, you may also wish to consider the tax advantages of donating securities. For larger gifts involving donations of assets such as marketable stocks, retirement funds, insurance or other financial investments, you may benefit from various tax advantages by eliminating, reducing or deferring some income tax, estate tax, capital gains tax or other tax liabilities. 

The SID gratefully accepts your contribution through any of the following methods.

Make a Gift by Check
Please make your check payable to The Society for Investigative Dermatology. Checks may be mailed to the addressSID Administrative Office at 526 Superior Avenue East, Suite 540, Cleveland, OH 44114.

Make a Gift by Credit Card
For your convenience, the SID accepts Visa, Master Card and American Express. To make a gift by credit card, please contact the SID at 216-579-9300.

Make a Gift of Securities
A gift of appreciated securities provides distinct advantages over cash. For example, you are eligible to take a federal income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift for up to 30% of your adjusted gross income. In addition, you will not have to recognize the appreciation as capital gain, thereby minimizing your capital gains tax liability. Securities may also be used to establish a trust, which may provide additional advantages by further minimizing income and estate taxes.
