James Nordlund, MD Biography
Dr. Nordlund currently
is Professor of Clinical Dermatology at the Wright State Boonschoft
School of Medicine. He took is training at Yale University where he
remained on faculty for 14 years. As a Professor, he was recruited as
Chairman of Dermatology to the University of Cincinnati in 1983, a
position he held for 16 years. After stepping down, he spent a year in
Tanzania at the Regional Dermatology Training Center, Kilimanjaro
Christian Medical Center. After returning, he left Cincinnati to join
the faculty at Wright State. His interests and work has been focused on
skin color and in particular on vitiligo. He has served in many
administrative roles for the American Academy of Dermatology, the
Society for Investigative Dermatology, the PanAmerican Society for
Pigment Cell Research and the International Federation of Pigment Cell
Societies. He is the recipient of many honors and awards. He has
published over 120 scientific papers, as many chapters and reviews and
several books mostly related to pigmentation. He is the senior editor
of the book, The Pigmentary System: Physiology and Pathophysiology,
the second edition of which was published in 2006. |
