The Annual Meeting has grown substantially in attendance and stature
since 2003. In the past several years the SID has undertaken a
number of strategic initiatives that have propelled the organization
toward what it is today -- a leading purveyor of educational
programming that advances and promotes the sciences relevant to skin
health and disease. The Meeting now averages 1500 attendees and more
than 900 abstract submissions each year.
Below are some of the sponsorship opportunities available for the
Annual Meeting. Please contact the SID office at 216-579-9300 for information on financial commitments for these
and other opportunities.
Sponsored Satellite Symposia
One of the most popular sponsorship options at the Annual Meeting is
the Sponsored Satellite Symposium. Symposium sponsors work in tandem
with the SID to develop a two-hour meeting presenting medical and
scientific information on a topic of your choice, approved by the
SID Scientific Program Committee. Symposia must present basic
principles and new information about skin and skin disease that
reveals an area of special interest in relatively broad perspective.
A symposium provides the following benefits for your company.
-
A high level of visibility and the opportunity to highlight
your company's position as a leader in dermatological research
-
A highly respected forum for presenting important
innovations and cutting-edge research, plus Continuing Medical
Education (CME) credit eligibility—an added draw for Meeting
attendees
-
Increased recognition and goodwill among thought leaders in
dermatology—both from the US and abroad, and at all levels
within the dermatology community, especially among those who
attend year after year
-
An exclusive time slot, a full page overview of the
symposium in the Meeting Program, the option to insert an
invitation into Meeting carryalls, and your company's logo
displayed on all sponsorship signage outside the symposium area
-
Complimentary symposium facilities, upgraded AV equipment,
and on-site meeting management, as well as a designated staff
member to serve as liaison if you choose the option of working
with a medical education company
-
Four complimentary meeting registrations and a
complimentary one-year subscription to The Journal of Investigative
Dermatology
-
A good investment of your charitable dollars as well as your
marketing dollars because the SID is a 501(c)3 non-profit
organization registered in the State of Ohio, making your
support tax deductible to the full extent of the law
Please Note: Symposia opportunities are limited. In order to
maintain the overall integrity of its Annual Meeting, the SID
permits no more than six symposia each year.
The SID strictly adheres to the updated ACCME Standards for
Commercial Support. In addition, the SID has its own guidelines
pertaining to the scientific content, educational merit and
relevance of educational programs presented at its Annual Meeting.
For more information about Sponsored Satellite Symposia, contact the
SID office at 216-579-9300.
Educational Tracks
The SID offers three educational tracks at the Meeting. The Clinical
Scholars track is designed to bring bench research to practicing
clinicians. The Resident track provides residents with insight into
bench research and career advancement opportunities. The
Translational Research track explores the ins and outs of
translating research findings into clinical applications. These
programs are actively marketed both through Annual Meeting materials
and through separate direct marketing vehicles. Sponsors gain added
exposure through direct marketing materials and program signage.
Patient Art Exhibit
In 2003, the SID partnered with the Coalition of Skin Diseases, a
non-profit organization of 30 patient advocacy groups, to produce an
art exhibit entitled "The Layers of Skin Disease." Over a dozen
works of art were submitted by patients suffering from skin disease
and displayed in a special area at the Meeting. The exhibit was well
received and grew dramatically in the following years. The SID seeks a
corporate partner to underwrite costs associated with expanding and
producing the exhibition and to ensure it becomes a
permanent fixture for all future SID Annual Meetings.
Meeting Program Book
Have your company logo and full-page ad featured in the Meeting
Program. The program is constantly used and referred to before,
during and after the Meeting by all attendees. As an alternative, ad
space is available for purchase in the Meeting Program.
Travel Fellowships & Resident Education Support
Support residents, fellows and young investigators by helping the
SID underwrite their costs to attend the meeting. Providing the SID
with unrestricted educational grants will allow us to give more
young investigators, residents and fellows, who may not have the
financial means, a chance to attend the Annual Meeting at a
subsidized rate.
